Category Head - Accessories

About the Job

You will be responsible for developing and executing a profitable, customer-focused product and merchandising strategy for your product category. You should have an insatiable desire to contribute to a young, energetic and fast growing brand that provides the best product experience to customers.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the success of the category by driving the top line and bottom line performance of the category
  • Responsible for entire lifecycle from creating a range and assortment plan, decide OTB, manage product development, sourcing, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Will be responsible for key results including Category Sell-through, gross margin, product quality and customer returns, and OTIF.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to agree on the season’s look and product direction. 
  • Use quantitative and qualitative customer insights to drive a sound product strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional team members to develop key concepts and promotional strategies to ensure that the collection is commercially viable and provides an exciting online and store customer experience. 
  • Build an assortment plan that meets online and store needs and then deliver a single detailed assortment to design. 
  • Management of final investment plan and OTB based on business analysis
  • Liaison with Marketing and Design teams to develop seasonal online/ in-store campaigns. 
  • Ensure that sourcing strategies are cost-effective and in compliance with the company’s legal standards. 


Desired Experience and Skills
Education : MBA / Masters degree
Years of Experience : 6 - 8 years
 
Should have :

  • Possesses a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them. Should have demonstrable how to improve sell-through, gross margin, product quality, and OTIF.
  • Should have extensive sourcing, buying & merchandising experience in wide range of accessories categories which are closely related to Chumbak Accessories categories
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the brand aesthetic, target customer and of product trends. 
  • Demonstrates negotiation skills that secure beneficial outcomes. 
  • Possesses strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Possesses knowledge of production processes. 
  • 6-8 years of merchandising experience. 
  • At least 2 years of accessories category management experience.
